Our August Poetry Salon will feature poet Sophia Fox for an evening of readings, writings, listenings, speakings and the joy of language. Participants will be encouraged to bring their creativity and curiosity and we generate community connection through poetry. We would be delighted if you could join us!
Sophia Fox encourages you to receive poems with your palms facing up to catch miraculous notions, your eyebrows stretched and prepped to raise, and your heart susceptible to flutter. She has heard rumors that the fog in San Francisco is composed of all our sighs and swoons and she would like to keep the hills angelic and the city dreamy. Sophia studied English literature and creative writing at UC Berkeley and is currently working on her debut book–a compilation of her poems and essays. Her writing attempts to stir up gratitude for both reality, irreality, and their intermingling, and prioritizes lingering in liminal states. Her work also tends to consider rock n roll, roaming, and romance. Her poetry has been published by Psyched! Press and The Berkeley Art of Writing Press.
